The drive home yesterday was like something from the twilight zone. I could see the giant cloud devour the 5 freeway; it reminded me of the movie mist.
Now, there isn't anything special about fog...but...fog that devours and moves like what I saw, is simply rad! Does anyone use that word anymore?

Seeing 911
For a couple months now, I've been seeing the numbers "911". I've never been one to see too much into such things; in fact, I usually try to explain it away. I felt that if I gave it any credence, it would lean itself to an occult/astrological type of tampering.
Not that I don't believe in such things, I just figured I didn't have the know-how to really tamper with such things. And even if I did, my faith draws lines in the sand on what is taking it too far.
At any rate, it's getting to the point where I'm sub-consciously seeing it everywhere. I'm not looking for it or dwelling on it, it's just there. It's sort of a double wammy in this scenerio because I'm ignoring it due tomy spiritual skepticism (sounds like an oxymoron don't it?) and also because of meaning behind the number. Thoughts like "maybe something bad is coming?" pops into my mind.
Whether real or perceived, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with it. Run to the mountains? Buy life insurance? Pray more?....I don't know.
Either way, may your will be done Holy Father.

Possible relocation at work
I've gotten so busy with work and life in general that I've gone through a neglect period with this blog.
I'm being moved to another department at work. I haven't concluded whether this is a good thing or if I'm that guy in the movie "office space" that got fired months ago but no one ever told him. But through some glitch in accounting, he continued to get paid. They just kept moving him from place to place until he eventually went postal and burnt the building to the ground.
At any rate, the move seems more challenging and exciting.
Pray for me.

New Site
I got this new site from Apolonio’s blog:
Philosophia Perennis
I gotta tell you, sites like this are like a candy store for me. I had already been following some of these men before and to have them all in one blog is just utopian. Not to mention that they may even disagree from time to time and I have a front row seat…pass the popcorn.
I went ahead and added it to my blog favorites for those interested.

BBQ Weekend
For some families, having BBQ’s on the weekend is like a religious practice. For us, let’s just say I can’t remember the last time we ever had one. I’ve never been a fan of having a BBQ on your 6 X 6 foot patio. Maybe if we actually had a back yard; it would be more enticing to have them more often.
Having said that, kids can have just as much fun in a 6 X 6 patio as they can in a football size backyard. They enjoyed roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, and just helping me prepare the food. So as ice cude once said “today was a good day”.

Atom Smasher
Atom Smasher!!! Just the sound of it sounds cool. But it’s not just that; check out the actual machine that is said to be capable of doing such a thing:
How is that for an interesting looking machine eh?
It’s due to launch on September 10, 2008. What a date to pick considering all the tragedy behind 9/11. The more interesting and scary thing behind it all is what this machine is said to be able to cause; the end of the world as we know it. I’m far from a conspiracy theorist but my goodness of all the days to pick to launch a machine that is said to be able to cause such destruction as to end not just life on our planet but also those surrounding it.
The machine is said to be able to create black holes, warm holes, strangelets, and basically just screw with our magnetic field. I haven’t the foggiest idea how it’s able to do all this, but I really hope that the particle physicist checked there formulations a gazillion times before they launch.
Some are so concerned about it that they’ve taken it to court to stop it from launching. Time is ticking and it seems that even if the objectors are able to formulate a good argument, the timing is off and it looks like its not going to make it.
God be with us if the objectors are right.
Family Movie Day
A Journey to the Center of the Earth
It’s the first movie we watch as a family without any interruptions from any of the kids. They enjoyed wearing the 3D glasses and of course the usual amenities like popcorn, soda, and such.
As for the movie, it’s a good thing we watched it in 3D. I’m not sure it would be as enjoyable if we didn’t. Things jumping out at you really steals the show. It was certainly a good movie for kids; it had a few scenes that made them jump, but that was about it. It was fun.

Electronic world
Have a little fun at my expense. We've done electronic billing for so long and I can't remember the last time I had to mail something that I forgot where the forwarding address goes. Yes, that's right, I am a tard.
Now enjoy this song as a token of forgiveness to the human race for my tardiness (is that even a word?):

Getting In Shape
Playing basketball came so easy to me. I remember hanging off a ten foot rim. Not bad for a guy that is 5'-9"...eh?
I played a little yesterday with my kids and the kids in the neighborhood. Needless to say, I can't hang off a ten foot rim anymore. I could barely keep up with the kids. I'm really out of shape.
So I woke up sore and in pain from playing basketball. If I'm going to get back in shape. I need to do it in a pool; because running and anything that involves gravity is taking a beating on my bones.

First Day of School
I'm so used to saying "first day of school" and talking about myself. But now my oldest son is starting kindergarten. Wow! Time sure does fly.
It is a wonderful feeling to be a father, it really is. It upsets me just to think that any man would negate such a beautiful thing.
Anyways, it's a happy moment and I used to think that only mommy's tend to get nervous when there no-longer-baby goes off on there own. Whatever feeling my wife was feeling, I shared with her.
But you know, us guys don't like to talk about it, unless it's a blog...=)

Baseball Game
So I took the boys to an Angels game and they were excited at the mere view of the front entrance with the huge red baseball helmets. At the entrance, they gave away free angels plug-in lights that got them even more excited. To top things off, the ramps that take you to the upper levels amused them to no end. We even got a small fire work show. Things seemed to be going well.
Then, at the bottom of the second, while the Angels were being pummeled, and my second youngest boy was singing “I like cotton candy, yes I do” for nearly 15 minutes non-stop, things went south. The Oakland fans behind us were getting loud, a group of drunken college kids to my left and my kids kept on saying they wanted to go home.
So, it was short lived, but we had as much fun as we could have considering the circumstances.

Ferry Corsten
This guy is the bomb! Ferry Corsten is ranked in the top ten DJ's in the world, but he's no.1 as far as I'm concerned. He used the lead singer of Duran Duran (Simon Le Bon) in this mix. Enjoy!

Grand Opening!
So, I thought long and hard about what I wanted this blog to be about. I knew I wanted it to be about my family, my life, my spiritual walk, and just about anything else my mind happens to wander on. I wanted to make sure that no thought of mine, no matter how stupid, would ever go unpublished. It can be a learning experience and quite entertaining to learn from past views and mistakes. They need not be mistakes either; people develop and expand on previous held ideas all the time. At any rate, I hope this will be a fruitful experience.
As to why I named it what I did, well it describes me, first and foremost (although the “movement” part is debatable). Second, it describes the direction my wife and I want to take our family. A family “marked by much life”, both physically and spiritually. Third, “Animated” and “Mesina” both describe a new beginning, a new chapter full of high-spirited energy, movement, and of course marked by much life. As I mentioned above, Mesina is a new last name for me, and it also happens to be my wife’s last name. Yes, that’s right; I took on my wife’s last name. There is a story behind it, but let’s just say that it was best for me and my family.
There is a history behind changes names; particularly males. In the Old Testament, God changes Abram’s name to Abraham and Simon into Peter. Now, I certainly wasn’t called by God to change my name to Mesina, but it was an unintentional meaning I came to embrace years after having changed my last name.
So, with that said, I launch my blog only to have me be the only one read it…lol.
